Bridgehampton was settled in the 1660s around a bridge built over Sagg Pond connecting early settlements. Famous as an agricultural center for horse breeding and potato cultivation, Bridgehampton is internationally known for hosting the annual Hampton Classic Horse Show, the Bridgehampton Museum, and the historic Bridgehampton Race Circuit.
