Incorporated in 1928, Quogue was settled in 1734 and was originally named Quaquanantuck, meaning ‘shaking marsh.’ In the late 19th century, it became an exclusive, understated summer haven. Quogue is noted for historic shingle-style cottages, the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, and pristine ocean beaches.
