East Meadow takes its name from its colonial history as the eastern grazing meadow of the historic Hempstead Plains, established in the 1600s. Today, it is home to Nassau County’s flagship 930-acre Eisenhower Park, which features championship golf courses and athletics complexes, as well as Nassau University Medical Center.
