Center Moriches was settled in the 17th century along the Moriches Bay estuary. Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, it flourished as a major Long Island duck-farming and fishing capital. Today, it retains charming maritime docks, historic salt-box homes, and scenic waterside restaurants.
