Incorporated in 1921, Malverne was settled in the 18th century as an agricultural area and originally known as Norwood. Renamed after Malvern in England, the village preserves an authentic small-town atmosphere characterized by gaslight-style streetlamps, vibrant community parades, independent shops, and classic brick storefronts.
