Sands Point is a luxurious village located at the northernmost tip of the Port Washington peninsula on the Long Island Sound. Named after James Sands who settled here in 1691, Sands Point inspired the fictional ‘East Egg’ in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, famed for Guggenheim’s historic Castle Gould and Hempstead House at the Sands Point Preserve.
