Westbury was founded in 1658 by English Quaker settlers. In 1775, the Westbury Quaker Meetinghouse issued one of America’s earliest corporate declarations opposing slavery. Incorporated as a village in 1932, Westbury is celebrated for its thriving multicultural downtown and close proximity to premier cultural venues like the NYCB Theatre at Westbury.
